You asked, we listened!
As many of you make weavings (as well) and not only macrame, we now offer you a limited selection of beautiful and unique yarns as well, next to our macrame ropes (did you know that stringrope can very well be used in weavings? I mean that fringe!!).

This is our Italian Merino Super Wash yarn. Made in Spain with Italian Merino wool.
To start with, we offer 3 colors. When you are very enthusiastic, we will offer more :-)
This listing is for the terra cotta red color (the other colors you can see on the 2nd and 3rd picture and find in their separate listings).

NOTE: this size comes in a cute ball instead of in the shown skein on the first picture.

It is a fingering yarn (meaning:  thin but very usable - a common weight for socks, baby clothes and shawls for example) formed by merino wool and washable at 30 degrees as it has a super wash treatment. This material is obtained from the fleece of the best Australian merino sheep wools. The fiber thus obtained, is called 'Virgin wool' with a guarantee of compliance with animal welfare regulations.

The result is a superfine wool, very soft to the touch. Especially suitable for crocheting or knitting (or weaving) when temperatures drop and we want very warm pieces.

The facts:

  • Composition: 100% merino super wash of 19 micros
  • Format: 100 gr skein or ball (this size is a ball!) of yarn = 400m
  • Thickness: Fingering
  • Needles: 2-3.5
  • Washing: it can be washed at 30 degrees C
  • Properties:
    • 100% natural: Wool is a 100% natural fiber. This Super Wash Merino Wool is superfine so it does not irritate the skin or itch and it's very soft on the skin with contact.
    • 100% biodegradable: When a fiber of wool is eliminated, it decomposes naturally in the soil in a few years, slowly releasing nutrients to the soil
    • 100% renewable: Every year, Australian sheep (in this case, held in Italy), produce a new fleece, turning the wool into a fully renewable fiber.

We admit, it is kind of confusing as now we have two Spanish suppliers.
Our Mediterranean Line is also from Spain but as that one is well know as 'the Mediterranean Line', we keep it that way and we hereby introduce to you our other Spanish supplier by the name of 'The Spanish Line.

This company is a family-owned company, working in the wonder world of ropes since the 19th century (the picture below shows the workers in 1920!)

They produce their ropes with versatile and sometimes also very specialized materials, 100% made in Europe.

Their work is produced in three basic foundations: listen to the user, do research and maintain the family tradition of high quality products at a competitive price. While doing so they always take the preservation of our environment for the future generations into account.

What I feel is really special about this company, is that they really put a lot of effort in producing in such a way that their products are officially certified.

All their products are guaranteed 100% made in Spain and they only use 100% material, made in Europe. They also require their suppliers to have the OEKO-TEX certificate (like they have themselves as well!) to guarantee the control of harmful and toxic substances and make sure the production have an European origin. All their products therefore have the OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certificate.

Besides this, they use as little plastic as possible. The labels are made of recycled paer with FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) and Ecolabel certifications and the packaging and the spools of the cones are made of recycled paperboard wih FSC certification as well..

And last but not least, they comply with the extensive regulations of the Sanitary Registration of the Ministery of Health of the Government of Spain. The products do not contain optical bleach or bisphenol. Their materials pass a very strict health control as the company also has a range of food threads, and that control is also applied to they yarns for the handmade sector. All products are periodically tested in external labatories approved by the European Union.

Besides the above, there are several certifications that are specific to a certain product (these are mentioned within the product description). Such as the 'Detox to Zero - OEKO-TEX'certificate, the GOS Certification and GRS.

STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® - class 1

All products that have this qualification AND this tab describing it (!) have the STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® with product class 1. This is the strictest class in security.
This gives you (and your clients) the guarantee that products with this certification can be safely used to make articles for babies and toddlers.

In short, this certification means that there are no harmful or toxic materials used for the production. Oeko-Tex Standard 100 is the best known certification for textiles when it comes to showing whether they contain harmful materials.

More information:
STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® is the world's leading eco-label for textile items and determines whether they contain harmful substances. Having this qualification shows tha no harful or toxic substances have been applied for their preparation, thus complying with the requirements of the OEKO-TEX® certification.

All products with this tab, showing this information, are CLASS 1, the strictest in security, saying that products with this certification can be safely used to make articles for babies and toddlers.
They also comply with the requirements of Annex XVII of the REACH (including the use of azo dyes, nickel, etc.), as well as comply with the American requirements regarding the total lead content in children's articles.

This certification guarantees that our materials are free of any harmful chemical or substance, in addition to the human-ecological requirements established by OEKO TEX for products in contact with the skin.

All our national shippings are shipped with track & trace. This only means you know where your package is and when to expect it. This is not an insurance in case something happens with your package while on the way.

As for the insurance of your package; please select accordingly at check out (for only  €0,70 extra your package is ensured for loss, damage etc. on route). We strongly advise you to do so when you spend money (for example over €50,-) as otherwise, when something happens, we cannot be held liable.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING

International shipping: track & trace and insurance
All our international shippings (one exception - see below) are send with a track & trace code and they are insured.

  • For shippings within Europe the insurance is up to 500 euro.
  • For shippings outside the EU this is up to 100 euro.

For international, small (less then 350 gram) shippings:
The international rules and regulation changed when shipping to addresses outside of the Netherlands. Unfortunately this means that from 2020 onwards, goods may no longer be franked in the same way as letters. I can frank this type of shipment as a parcel without Track & Trace (being a little cheaper), registered mail or insurance service. Other countries also require that the Dutch post shares information about the content with them digitally in advance.

Long way short: this means shipping small/light items got more expensive :-(
I choose to ONLY send items with track & trace - so as a package. As for those few euros that shipping it without track & trace, it is simply not worth it as packages tend to 'magically disapear' too often in such case.
So if you want a cute plant animal or just 1 wooden macrame ring, it might be smart to add some to your order in order to make the shipping costs more economical.

Calculated weight: for all foreign shippings:
Our system counts the total weight of your shipping. Most of the time, this should give the right shipping price in the end. But  when you order a lot, we also need bigger boxes - meaning more shipping material. And this has a weight as well. So sometimes, the weight could be a bit more then automatically calculated. In that case, we will send you a message with the extra costs, before shipping your package. When you agree, we will send you an invoice for those extra shipping costs. After receiving your payment, we will ship your package.
On the other hand: if we calculated you a normal package price for shipping and there is a way of shipping it cheaper, we will do so and refund you the money you were charged too much.
