MAKO is a mixture of the finest and softest cotton in the market. It is grown in Egypt and processed in Japan, where it is blended with metallic fibers to give it a subtle and elegant shine. This cotton is one of the most expensive and coveted cottons in the world.
There are several colors available (and there will be new ones added as well!) and this listing is for the color Silver Grey (the other colors you can see on the last photos).
Note: the first five pictures are mine. I feel these represent the real color better then the pictures from the manufacturer after these (the ones with the really white background) ;-)
It is great material for knitting, crochet or to add it to your weaving or macramerope for that little spark!
The MAKO cotton is distinguished from other cottons by having the maximum length of cotton fibers, becoming the softest and freshest cotton in the world and very resistant at the same time, since the largest fibers are much more resistant to the washing. This cotton rejects the short fibers and only works with the extra long fibers, which gives it an unequaled quality. The quality criterion is based in the length of the fibers (from 32 to 40 mm).
It is a high quality cotton which is cultivated in Egypt, but processed in Japan afterwards. In Japan they are distinguished for applying very high quality standards to both the cotton fibers and the dyeing process, eliminating any harmful or toxic substances in the supply chain. They also have a strong commitment with the preservation of our environment by recycling all possible materials thus reducing the impact of human activities.
