This soft 8 mm twisted cotton macrame rope is part of our well known Mediterranean Line and it comes in over 30 colors. It is made in Spain by a small family owned manufacturer. The 100% coton rope, so a natural fiber, is made out of recycled materials. Because we (and they!) care about the environment.

3-ply rope is made of 3 entwined strands. It is a bit sturdier than the single twisted stringrope and that makes it easier to knot as a beginner.

This listing is the 8mm, 3-ply twisted rope in Black
You can see all colors on the pictures. I also added some color comparisons for those colors that are alike. If something is still unclear, please don't hesitate to contact me!

There is about 36 meters on a roll and the weight of 1 cone is about 800 grams.
Because it is a natural product, the exact length differs a bit per cone (due to the stretch) - therefore it is listed as about 36 meters (could be a bit more or a bit less but it is always at least 36 meters (and I also had cones of 50 meters so....).
The rope gives you - very easy! - a beautiful fringe if desired!

We already sell this rope for over 4 years and are really happy to do so.

When I made a lot of macrame myself, I noted how much rope you need for a macrame piece... it made me think about the footprint I leave on the planet as all these meters need to be made from natural cotton.... and that was the start of my cooperation with this Spanish company for my Mediterranean Line.

Our Mediterranean Line is made entirely from recycled materials in a small family owned business in Spain! How great is that!

They buy left over cotton from all over Spain and turn that into their fabulous macramerope and stringrope. For example, the primrose pink comes from left over material from a sheet and pillow company!

It also means that there is a limit to the amount available. Sometimes, they are able to buy a lot of a particular color but it also happens, it is just a little bit. We therefore advice  you to buy all you need at once as it could be, after some time, the color is either replaced by a color that is alike but not exactly the same (due to the lack of recycled material in that color) or it is not coming back at all.

But hey, they produce SO many incredible colors and come with new colors so often, that seems like a small price to pay, right?

I am also very proud of the cooperation with this small company. The owners and me have a lot of contact and together with an USA seller, I am the only one who gets to offer you their 'limited edition' colors (they only make a small batch of these colors as the recycled material to use is only little) and often we are one of the first to show you their newest colors. They also help me out when needed; for huge or speed orders; they sometimes even produce overnight and ship it to me if possible. Love them!

Oh and if you make macrame to sell; please do realize, the fact that you use recycled material could be an extra plus to buy it for those who care of the environment as well ;-)

  • With a fine tooth comb you can easily brush it out into a fluffy fringe. Please do note that, compared to the single twisted stringrope, the 3-ply rope tends to curl a bit.
  • At one of the last picture you can see the whole 'family' in this color. This because we offer most colors in at least the 5mm stringrope as well as in the 2.5, 4, 6 and 8 mm 3-ply twisted rope. You can find those family members in different listings.
  • The last pictures show you this color, next to other colors - for comparison.
  • See the pictures for colors next to each other and also for rope of different size - to compare the thickness. It could be you see a product in a different color but then it is to show you either the thickness or fluffiness of the rope.
  • Please note, our supplier, works with recycled materials only. This means, there could be a color variation between dye lots or a color might even not come back!, so we would advice you, to avoid running short, please purchase enough rope to complete your project.
  • We tried to represent the colors in the pictures as accurately as possible but still, colors may vary on different computers and in different lighting conditions.
  • Looking for another color? Contact me! I would be happy to see if I can get it for you (though you should count in a longer delivery time).

Within the Mediterranean Line, we also offer stringrope in different cone sizes.
Besides our well known Mediterranean Line, we also have our Oriental Line with stringrope, twisted rope and braided rope in many sizes.
You can find them all in separate listings here in our shop.

  • We always aim to ship your package either the same day or the next day.
  • You will receive a message with track & trace code so you know when your package is on the way.
  • We trust you and we trust ourselves but.. .we do not always trust the post ;-) Because we want to make sure, everything you order, arrives with you save and as fast as possible, we ship everything with a track & trace code. This makes it a bit more expensive but gives us both more insurance that your package will arrive.
    • Note: only very small shippings within NL (things that fit in an envelope), we will send without track & trace. Should you request it to be send with track & trace, then please do contact me.

National shipping: track & trace and insurance
All our national shippings are shipped with track & trace. This only means you know where your package is and when to expect it. This is not an insurance in case something happens with your package while on the way.

As for the insurance of your package; please select accordingly at check out (for only  €0,70 extra your package is ensured for loss, damage etc. on route). We strongly advise you to do so when you spend money (for example over €50,-) as otherwise, when something happens, we cannot be held liable.

International shipping: track & trace and insurance
All our international shippings (one exception - see below) are send with a track & trace code and they are insured.

  • For shippings within Europe the insurance is up to 500 euro.
  • For shippings outside the EU this is up to 100 euro.

For international, small (less then 350 gram) shippings:
The international rules and regulation changed when shipping to addresses outside of the Netherlands. Unfortunately this means that from 2020 onwards, goods may no longer be franked in the same way as letters. I can frank this type of shipment as a parcel without Track & Trace (being a little cheaper), registered mail or insurance service. Other countries also require that the Dutch post shares information about the content with them digitally in advance.

Long way short: this means shipping small/light items got more expensive :-(
I choose to ONLY send items with track & trace - so as a package. As for those few euros that shipping it without track & trace, it is simply not worth it as packages tend to 'magically disapear' too often in such case.
So if you want a cute plant animal or just 1 wooden macrame ring, it might be smart to add some to your order in order to make the shipping costs more economical.

Calculated weight: for all foreign shippings:
Our system counts the total weight of your shipping. Most of the time, this should give the right shipping price in the end. But  when you order a lot, we also need bigger boxes - meaning more shipping material. And this has a weight as well. So sometimes, the weight could be a bit more then automatically calculated. In that case, we will send you a message with the extra costs, before shipping your package. When you agree, we will send you an invoice for those extra shipping costs. After receiving your payment, we will ship your package.
On the other hand: if we calculated you a normal package price for shipping and there is a way of shipping it cheaper, we will do so and refund you the money you were charged too much.
